Ready-to-use game assets

AssetSmithy

Comic/cartoon 2D assets for visual novels, RPGs and adventure games.

Backgrounds, character sprites, item icons, music and dialogue UI. Royalty-free with a commercial licence, clean file structures, and drop-in formats for Unity, Godot, Ren'Py, RPG Maker, GameMaker and Unreal.

Sold on itch.io and on Fab, where the packs ship as ready-made Unreal and Unity assets.

What the forge turns out

Game UI

Complete HUDs and menus

Whole interfaces rather than single widgets: HUD, inventory, skill tree, crafting, map, quest log and settings, built from 9-slice panels, buttons, bars and slots with every state. Drops into Unity, Godot and Ren'Py.

Eight settings, built out end to end

Each setting has its own backgrounds, cast, icons and score, so you can furnish a whole project from one shelf instead of stitching mismatched art together.

Setting-neutral on top of that: 550+ status effect and buff icons for hotbars and combat UI, Viking music with 20 Nordic folk and cinematic tracks, 99 animal battlers of wild beasts and predators that fit any setting, 400 food cooking state icons showing 80 ingredients raw, cooked, burnt and spoiled, and 300+ achievement icons of trophies, badges and medals for Steam and mobile.

Whole sets, one price

Every setting is also sold as a bundle, so you can take the complete shelf instead of picking packs one by one.

See it running in a real game

Clanbound is a free roguelike deckbuilder built entirely from these packs - the monster battlers, card frames and fantasy art doing the job they were made for. It runs in the browser, no download.

Try it before you buy it

Almost every pack has a free sampler with the full licence attached. Drop one into your project, see whether the style fits, and only then decide.

Licence, in plain words

  • Use the assets in commercial and non-commercial projects.
  • Modify, recolour and rescale them to fit your game.
  • Ship them in unlimited projects, on any platform.
  • No attribution required, no royalties, no per-title fee.

What you may not do: resell or redistribute the assets as an asset pack, or claim them as your own artwork. The full licence text ships inside every download.

How it is made

Every pack is produced with AI tools and then curated and refined by hand in Photoshop: cleanup, colour matching, cropping and consistency passes across the whole set.

This is stated openly on every store page and flagged in itch.io's AI disclosure, because buyers deserve to know what they are getting before they download it, not after.

What you get either way is a set that hangs together: one style, one palette logic, predictable file structures and sizes.

Questions, answered

The things buyers ask before they download the first pack.

Can I use AssetSmithy assets in a commercial game?

Yes. Every pack ships with a commercial licence: unlimited commercial and non-commercial projects, on any platform, with no attribution, no royalties and no per-title fee. You may also modify, recolour and rescale the files to fit your game.

What is not allowed?

You may not resell or redistribute the assets as an asset pack of your own, and you may not claim them as your own artwork. The full licence text ships inside every download.

Which engines and tools do the packs work with?

The files are plain high-resolution PNG, WAV and MP3, so they drop into Unity, Godot, Ren'Py, RPG Maker, GameMaker and Unreal without a converter. Icon packs also include an RPG Maker MZ icon sheet where it makes sense.

What sizes and formats do I get?

Backgrounds are 1920x1080, with a separate foreground layer in most packs that sits on top of the scene. Character sprites and battlers come on transparent PNG. Item icons are delivered at 64, 128, 256 and 512 pixels, sorted into category folders. Music comes as WAV and MP3.

Are the assets made with AI?

Yes, and it is stated openly on every store page and flagged in itch.io's AI disclosure. Every pack is produced with AI tools and then curated and refined by hand in Photoshop: cleanup, colour matching, cropping and consistency passes across the whole set.

Can I try a pack before buying?

Almost every pack has a free sampler that carries the same commercial licence, so you can drop it into your project and check whether the style fits before you spend anything.

Need something that does not exist yet?

I take commissions for backgrounds, character avatars and icons made to fit your project, in the same consistent style as the packs. Tell me the scene, the cast or the item list and it gets built.
